Chocolate 🍫 Covered Strawberries 🍓 Powered by PROTEIN

Smoothies are my EVERYTHING!
So much so, that they are the impetus for my book which I am so close to finishing writing, but yet not close enough.

In the meantime, I thought that sharing a smoothie recipe is a good idea.

Notice the nutrient density of the complete recipe. And note the specific nutrients provided by each ingredient.
This is not just something I threw together, oh NO! This is one of my many SUPER NUTRITIOUS SMOOTHIES, except this one in particular was inspired by the strawberries 🍓 in my freezer & the ever present chocolate 🍫 whey protein powder in my pantry.
Give it a GO!! You won’t regret it.

• 1 cup (240g) soy, dairy, almond, or alternative milk of your choice, or kefir, or yogurt
• 1 scoop (30g) protein powder, chocolate (25g protein)
• 1 cup (166g) strawberries, fresh or frozen
o 157% vitamin C, 24% manganese
• 1 tablespoon cocoa or cacao powder, preferably non-Dutched/ non-alkalized
o Good source of Manganese
• 1 tablespoon (9g) almonds
o 11% vitamin E & manganese
• 2 cups (168g) red leaf lettuce
o 34% vitamin C, 21% vitamin A, 42% manganese, 14% folate, 9% iron, 8% calcium & potassium)
• ½ Brazil nut (100% Selenium)
• 1 tablespoon molasses
o (20% iron, 11% magnesium, 27% manganese, 18% calcium, 15% potassium, 21% copper, 7% B6, 5% selenium)
• 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
o (9% calcium, 8% magnesium, 7% iron, 11% manganese, 11% copper, 6% phosphorus, 4% zinc)
• 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
o (23% vitamin E, 14% thiamine, 8% selenium, 8% magnesium, 9% manganese)
• 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds
o (19% magnesium, 21% manganese, 12% iron, 10% copper, 17% phosphorus, 7% zinc)
• 1 tablespoon Nutritional yeast flakes
o (4g protein, 2g fiber, 320% thiamine, 280% riboflavin, 240% B6, 140% niacin, 65% B12, 50% pantothenic acid, 30% folate, 15% selenium. And I am the FIRST reference in Wikipedia!)
• 2 tablespoons (12g) GROUND flax, chia, or hemp seeds
